Black HP17bII

I have just received the black HP 17bII that I had been looking for.
Does anybody know when these units where made? The pictures herebelow compare it with another calculator with the typical, uglier colours. Both are made in Indonesia, but you can see the difference. Even the pouch is black instead of brown, and seems to be of better quality:

Re: Black HP17bII
1. I have two black models: ID10903736 and ID10100380.

1. There were two black ones. One like the photo and the other with the second function engraved in blue color.

2. When HP finished the HP 17BII project, 3 prototypes were showed. 2 blacks and the other brown. The blacks were rejected and never went into production.

3. HP kept few models of the rejected prototypes and marketed the rest. Each one with a serial number and packed in the same box as the brown 17B.

4. Nobody knows for sure how many there are ... Probably less than 50 were done in black... In Brazil, besides mine, I met another one in the black version...
