Privacy Policy for Chip Counter
Last Updated: July 17, 2025
This Privacy Policy explains how Chip Counter collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled responsibly.
1. Information We Collect
The App collects the following types of information:
1.1 Personal Information
User-Provided Information: The App allows you to input information related to poker game sessions, including:
- Player names and initial chip amounts for up to 8 players.
- Chip amounts for bets, refills, and pot distribution during gameplay.
User Preferences: The App stores whether you have launched it before using UserDefaults to manage the first-launch experience.
1.2 Automatically Collected Information
The App does not collect any data automatically, such as device identifiers, location data, or usage analytics, unless explicitly provided by you through the App's interface.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information you provide is used solely to:
- Enable you to manage poker game sessions, including adding players, tracking chips, placing bets, and distributing the pot.
- Display player names, chip counts, and session balances in the App’s interface and leaderboard.
- Allow you to copy the leaderboard to your device’s clipboard for sharing or personal use.
- Store the first-launch status locally on your device using UserDefaults to determine whether to show the welcome screen.
We do not use your information for any purposes beyond the functionality of the App, such as marketing, analytics, or third-party sharing, unless explicitly stated below.
3. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage: All data you enter, including player names, chip amounts, and game state, is stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. The App does not transmit your data to any external servers or cloud services.
Security Measures: We rely on the security features of iOS and UserDefaults to protect your data. You are responsible for securing your device to prevent unauthorized access to the App and its data.
Data Retention: Your data remains on your device until you reset the table or delete the App. The "Reset Table" feature clears all player and game data, and deleting the App removes all stored data, including the first-launch status.
4. Sharing Your Information
No Third-Party Sharing: We do not share, sell, or transfer your personal information to any third parties, except as required by law or with your explicit consent.
Clipboard Sharing: If you choose to copy the leaderboard to your device’s clipboard, you may share this information (player names, chip counts, and session balances) with others at your discretion. Be cautious when sharing sensitive information, such as player names, as we are not responsible for how others use this data.
5. Your Choices and Rights
Access and Control: You have full control over the data you enter into the App. You can add, remove, or modify player information, chip amounts, and game state at any time through the App’s interface.
Data Deletion: To remove all data stored by the App, you can use the "Reset Table" feature to clear all player and game data or delete the App from your device, which will erase all data stored in UserDefaults.
6. Third-Party Services
The App does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics tools, or advertising networks. All functionality, including the game logic and leaderboard, is handled locally on your device.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App’s functionality or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted within the App or on our website (if applicable), with the "Last Updated" date revised accordingly. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
8. Contact Us
