The HP 35s uses either Reverse Polish Notation (RPN) or Infix notation as input.

Although the HP 35s has far more functions, processing power, and memory than the original HP-35 which it commemorates, Hewlett-Packard has attempted to give the HP 35s the look of the original HP-35 and other HP calculators of that era. It also features the sloped-front keys for which HP calculators (although not the original HP-35) are well known.

The HP-28 was the first calculator capable of solving equations symbolically. They were replaced by the HP-48 series of calculators, which grew from the menu-driven RPL programming language interface first introduced in the HP-28 series.

The HP-28 calculators shared a flip-open (book style) case. On the left side of the flip, there is an alphabetic keyboard (in alphabetic order). On the right was a typical scientific keyboard layout. The display was a 137x32 LCD matrix, usually displaying four lines of information (3 stack/command lines, plus one softkey label line).

Complete HP-85(A) Computer. The tape drive has been substituted with a QIC new drive. 2 new tapes with software are supplied + 2 new blank tapes. The rubbers of the printer have been changed as well, although there is a clear area in the printout - see picture.
All keys work well and the screen is sharp. The set includes an additional memory card of 16 bit and a rom drawer with Advanced Programming, Matrix, Plotter/Printer, Mass Storage and I/O ROMs.

It includes a rare transport case -see pictures (it is "a portable computer", in a way ;-))

It is an excellent computer for a lab - it's HP-IB interface (available but not pictured) can input data from a multimeter like the HP 3468A, and plot the results on a HP 7475A plotter. It can even interface with an HP 71b through an HP-IB/HP-IL interface.
